How To Make Beeswax Candles

It is not difficult to try making beeswax candles with essential oils. Essential oil evaporates quickly so the beeswax has to be poured in the mold at a very low temperature just before adding the essential oils. Stir the oil through thoroughly but be careful not to cook out your scent by stirring it too much.

You can also make beeswax candles without melting. All you have to do is roll from the sheet of beeswax in order to add your fragrance. Soak the wick in the fragrance of your choice and start rolling around it. Another way to add your fragrance is to drop a drop of oil into the melted pool of wax on top of your candle. Beeswax is an easy and fun way to make candles.

First pre-cut your wick to the desired length. Place your essential oil and rubbing alcohol in a small glass jar and shake well until the liquid is mixed. If you are using the alcohol to extend the oil and make sure the fragrance is distributed evenly through your wick. Now you can place all your wicks into the mixture. Close it again and shake or let it sit until all your wicks are saturated. It seems that overnight is the best way to soak these.

Now you can start with your sheet of beeswax. This works best at room temperature. If it’s too cold it will not want to be rolled. You have to have a good contact between the wick and the candle with no air pockets. Start rolling until you get the desired thickness your looking for. When you have enough, you can use a hot knife to seal the edge. The tighter you roll the candle the longer it will burn due to the fact that there will be less air to fan the flame.
